S. C. m'a acheté La Marge d'André Pieyre de Mandiargues — un livre que je m'étais approprié pour en faire un livre d'artiste. Une mésaventure que je conte ici et qui a donné naissance à une seconde version du même ouvrage, neuf ans plus tard. ~ À l’incertain Monsieur S. C. Chapitre un Un jour à Saint-Sulpice, au salon du livre d’artistes Un homme à la peau d’ébène se promène Noeud papillon et veston Ses Adidas foulent la place La littérature pour seconde nature Des auteurs français il connaît tous les secrets De discussions en discussions Son regard s’empare d’un ouvrage Ce Goncourt vaut le détour Massin y a mis sa main "La motocyclette" en tête Ce souvenir devient désir Le portefeuille en deuil Le chèque est une aubaine Celui-là est en bois Qu’importe le geste est là Rue des Maronites c’est là qu’il habite De cette farce aucune trace Sauf cette mésaventure que je vous conte En faisant mes comptes. ~ À l’incertain Monsieur S. C. Chapitre deux Un jour à Chamonix, le Maréchal des Logis transcrit l’escroquerie sans euphorie. Retrouver ce malappris et confier l’enquête à Paris. Une semaine plus tard, soumis à mon regard. Des portraits de cafards dans un commissariat blafard. Parmi tous ces bandits, un dandy ahuri. La pitié m’envahit. Il fait bonne figure, a même fière allure. Littérature… C’est lui, affirmé-je au gendarme avec un brin d’état d’âme. Exact Madame ! Le cliché est récent, le regard fuyant. À 59 ans, le féru de roman est un petit truand. Usurper le chéquier de son père décédé, savante pensée, s’écrie l’officier. Quant à son téléphone, quelle idée folle. C’est un sacré numéro, un drôle d’oiseau. Le costume sans accroc cache un petit escroc. Honorer sa dette serait affaire honnête. Dans cette attente prier Sainte-Bernadette. ~ À l’incertain Monsieur S. C. L’air est exquis. Une brume est sur le bois comme la fleur pourpre sur les prunes. Allons-nous coucher sur l’herbe, fumer des cigarettes et jouir de la nature.&nbsp; Le déclin du mensongeOscar Wilde Charmée par le graphisme de cette collection, je me suis approprié quelques-uns de ses ouvrages. La mention Stock, Delamain et Boutelleau ne désigne pas la maison d’édition mais une période de l’histoire des éditions Stock, dirigées dans les années 1920 et 1930 par Maurice Delamain, auparavant libraire, et Jacques Boutelleau, pseudo de Jacques Chardonne, père des hussards. Leur volonté commune était simple : moderniser la maison en développant une politique éditoriale ambitieuse : collections variées ouvertes vers l’international, grande importance à la qualité littéraire et à l’esthétique des livres. L’idée de peindre la nature dont je suis une fervente admiratrice s’est vite imposée. Les voix de la chair sont élémentaires. M. Teste, d’ailleurs, pense que l’amour consiste à pouvoir être bêtes ensemble, — toute licence de niaiserie et de bestialité.&nbsp; M. TestePaul Valery Sans Prince, je n’aurais peut-être jamais acheté ce livre. Resté en sommeil dans ma bibliothèque pendant trente ans, j’ai soudain décidé de le confier à Ilann Vogt pour qu’il devienne un livre d’artiste. Non sans un léger pincement au cœur. Une véritable cure de jouvence. perd son auteur. Son cuir gaufré d’arabesques est si rude que l’on peine à s’y asseoir. De fines lignes droites d’un jaune fané structurent un grand tapis au vert suranné. Sur le plateau d’une commode trône une eau-forte signée. Enfant je lève les yeux pour la contempler, perplexe quant à sa beauté. N’est-elle pas posée ici pour être admirée ? Vestige d’un passé dont il reste peu de témoins, en l’estampillant, je célèbre et romps à la fois notre lien. Ce polisson d'Ilann Vogt a réduit leurs combinaisons de création en tissant les lamelles du livre initial.
